Just booked a standing ticket for a concert; standard postal charge £2.70, but not secure, and some venues won't replace standing tickets if they're lost. Tell you what, why don't we e-mail it to you instead, you can print it off yourself and we'll only charge you £2.70 for the privilege!!! And they've defaulted the insurance option to automatically applying the fee. :sbox:

They really are robbing so-and-sos of the first order.

Not just Ticketmaster. It is a scandal. They don't prevent touts from reselling tickets, they charge OTT admin fees as here (Sky Golf tickets free, except for £1 charge to print off the ticket at your home!) etc. The cost of ticket sales should be part of the overall cost of the ticket - hide the fees.

Bought Iron Maiden tickets from them the other month, complete joke:

3 tickets at £46
3 booking fees at £6.20, so £52.20 for each ticket (quite how it costs £12.40 to process 2 additional tickets)

Then they had the gall to charge £2.20 'postage'. However Iron Maiden are doing ticketless for this tour to avoid touts, so absolutely nothing is posted; you've got to print out the form yourself and show up with ID on the day to get the ticket. So they've legitimately charged £2.20 for absolutely nothing, and worse thing is, nothing that can be done about it.

Compare that to the Kraftwerk tickets at the Usher Hall I bought: £60.50 each, then £1 transaction fee for the full order, and free collection at venue; It's a council-owned venue but shows you what can be done!

At £60 a ticket is seems like their costs are 'baked' into that!
