Just had a nice chat with my new Chain of Command. I’m currently on leave until my new role starts next week, but I’m away in Italy then as I’d booked it ages ago and they agreed to honour that. So the new boss rang me today and said hope I’m enjoying the down time, made some recommendations of places to visit next week when we’re away and finished up with saying he’s seen what a busy couple of years I’d had with working away so take the week after off as well and no need to submit a holiday request as it’s his discretion to allow me to have it as we don’t get many perks. So now I’m not in work till 18th May, will be nicely relaxed an absolutely ready to go 😎

Good for you, I'm in my handover period and it feels like I'm doing four jobs! (& I still need to find work in UK)

Cheers mate. Makes a really nice change in my world for someone above doing things for the benefit of the people and making sure we’re looked after. The last few years has been the total opposite all take and then when you’ve nothing left to give they took some more. It’s seen a massive upturn in people leaving and in medical problems, my body has been battered and I’m now suffering the consequences. So for someone to want to put that right is bloody lovely.

Hopefully you manage to juggle it all and have smooth move back to these colder shores. Once settled I’m sure you’ll be back in the swing of things and hopefully find some work that Maximises time with family and not in the office. ❤️
 
Introduced ourselves to our new neighbors today. Wow! Friends from years ago who due to his Ill health had drifted away from everyone. He's very much housebound now. Lovely hour chatting away...
