Things That Gladden The Heart

WSQK The Squawk, a Stranger Things radio station.

On Global player and elsewhere until 1st January. 1980s music and hosting as if an actual 1980s radio station. Lifting words from the promo..

‘…delivering a full 1980s radio experience linked directly to the final season of the Netflix series. The station plays continuous 80s hits and features a cast of American presenters including Vance Goodman and Mindy Flare’

I’m guessing it’s only going to play US hits and music of that period, but despite that it’s actually good fun.

Dont know how you get away with it Roy!
Great round though! 👍
Get away with it you ask, probably because I do 95% of the cooking…coffee maker … wash up, well load the dishwasher … clean the bathrooms… do the shopping… do the hovering… do the painting and decorating… run taxi service for grandkids… cut grass and provide labour duties… probably have to walk the dog if we had one… uncork the wine
Don’t know where I find the time to play golf 3/4 times a week.
Tough gig being a modern man 😉

I like to think that I'm a reasonably modern man, but even I haven't yet mastered the art of hovering!!

My dear wife, a nurse of 40+ years, now retired.
Last few days she's had sore throat, coughing, sneezing etc quite badly but cannot stand being nursed.
She's recovered, I've now got it and she's meithering me to death with medication, hot drinks and checking on me.
😂😘

You can probably start stocking up on Jungle Formula now though. It's probably on offer at this time of year.
And prepare yourself for a CalMac favorite dance - the Cancellation Waltz. My sister lived in Brodick and the tales of cancellation woe I'd get from her...regular as 1-2-3.

And there was I about to do something I absolutely didn't need to do - and I called myself a stumer.

Now where it came from I've no idea as I've not used it for years. But what a great Scots (I think) word with almost onomatopoeic resonances - perfectly describes me quite often, but one to remember for when a golfing companion does something that...well...they didn't intend to do or was frankly rather audacious (being kind) to attempt.

Stumer...great word.

And taking your blood pressure every hour!

Our youngest granddaughter was 3 yesterday. She's a real joy and a daredevil who is on the go from the minute she gets up until the minute she goes to bed. She's had an eye procedure which went wrong so was under for nearly 4 hours instead of 20 minutes plus further surgery but fingers crossed all is ok now. As you can see from the attached picture she is still tiny. In size 18 to 24 month old clothes and under 12kgs. I can carry her under one arm lol

Just seen the photo looks like she's missing part of a finger. She isn't.
