Things That Gladden The Heart

If you want a banging taste sensation, try putting ready salted crisps in the middle of a dirty chocolate cake!
Absolutely beautiful.

One of my fav sandwiches is corned beef with salt & vinegar crisps. Brings back memories of snooker afternoons at the club, inc. a glass or four.

Attended the funeral of one of my cousins yesterday…a very wet and gloomy day in Inverness.

The service closed with the more than 350 in the congregation singing Psalm 23 (The Lord’s my Shepherd) unaccompanied led by a precentor (it was a Free Church service). The singing was glorious and seriously uplifting - my cousins husband said later that at one point he stopped singing just to listen….as did I for a moment as tears came to my eyes.

The sound of a 350 strong largely Highland ‘choir’ singing the psalm to a beautiful Scottish tune (Crimond) with words full of meaning for all of us…incredibly emotional and wonderful.

As a child I used to love cheese & beetroot sandwiches.
Out of curiosity I tried one again a little while back - and decided that children have some very strange tastes.

Drove from Dornoch to Stirling yesterday and yes the weather was truly awful. Sorry for your loss

Returning to my car on the Isle of Wight ferry I sat behind the wheel and noticed my wallet was not in my pocket.
We were about 5th place in the front to unload and the ship was docking.
Absolute panic, my wife yelled go to the pursers office first. I ignored that and went back to our seats and there jammed in the gap between the two seats was my lovely wallet.
Quick run down the stairs and a minute or two later I was back on the mainland.
Phew is an overstatement.

Saw Ricky Gervais last night at Watford Colosseum. He was very funny all the way through. It's refreshing to see an old-style comedian who batters everyone equally, rather than leaning one way or the other politically. And it was only 15 mins from home so we were back before 10. 😂

Probably way behind the curve here but she's just downloaded the to good to go app, off I was sent to collect a package from the local bakery.
3 loaves
Pizza slice
Egg custard
A croissant

All for a fiver.

My boy often goes to London for gigs and he always gets this on the way home.
Some of the stuff he brings back is lovely and all for peanuts.
