Things That Gladden The Heart

Live screening of Tractor charity run through Liverpool raising funds for Alder Hey , organised by one of the farmers who organised the Nov19th protest . £8,000 and rising

Brilliant, 👏👏👏👏 not sure why the need to reference Nov 19th though? This is the 5th year of the Tractor Charity run for Alder Hey raising over 50K before today.

A friend of mine does Elf on the Shelf during the run-up to Christmas. Kids always look for it, can't move it etc.
His wife put it by mistake on top of the PS4 that was disconnected from the Saturday night. So all day yesterday, kids could not play on the PS4. Which made them upset and drove parents crazy.
Which made me laugh a lot of course

Lovely long dog walk on the beach in ‘fresh’ weather. Didn’t deter the dog who did his usual wade/plonk/swim. Home for tomatoes on sourdough toast (I know war is over but it’s a taste sensation). Walking round to the pub for 2:30pm before a nice Indian takeaway early evening. After last nights panto with the family, starting to feel very festive indeed.

The wind finally dropping so I could get outside on my bike rather than Peloton. I've never ridden through winter and, despite a windchill of zero, I really enjoyed it :)

Up in Chesterfield to spend Christmas with MiL. Having Christmas lunch at the care home my MiL is resident. The care home chef is good, so I’m sure it will be good (besides…we won’t have to pay for it 👍). So no last minute food buying today; no endless prep and cooking tomorrow; and no washing up.

And our Firestick at my MiLs house…though it had stopped working in my MiLs TV some 2 years ago, and resisting all my efforts to get it going again…yesterday it worked first time plugged into her telly (baffled as to why). Joy unsurpassed!
