Hi.
I was wondering if there are any GI irons that have a thin topline. I hate thick toplines and love thin ones.... i think Gi irons are the way forward but ideally i would like a thin topline...
Or possibly any forgiving club with a thin topline!
Thanks in advance

I think the I15s are relatively thin although not specifically a GI club I think they are very user friendly. A lot of the clubs X22 tours R 9TP's and some of the Mizzy lines all have thinnish toplines and a decent sized cavity. As always the best advice really is to try as many as you can and see what looks and plays right for you

I use Wilson staff FG Tour Irons as do a couple of the lads on here....They are relitively thin...I play off 19 and only got them a few weeks ago but im starting to play well with them now.....its after taking about 12 rounds but im enjoying them at last when you catch the sweet spot its like your swinging through fresh air.....There pretty forgiving for a players cavity back but they'll put manners on you if your not swinging right.....

I think the new Cobra S2's have a uerathane insert on top of them to make them look thin....It works if you've seen them in the flesh and there GI Irons.

FGs are not forgiving clubs. especially for someone with a 27 H/C

No disrespect to anyone's personal preference; but I just don't get all this top line nonsense.
You get it all over the GM reviews in the mag and online (video vault) and it's the worlds no.1 mystery to me.
Does it really matter what the club looks like as you stand over it?

No.1 priority....can I hit the thing?
No.568 priority....does it look shiny and "quality" in my bag?
No.1,234,568 priority....does it have a thin top line?

I have a Wilson Spine....I'm not vain. :)

Mizzy MX300?

Aimed at the better player market but relatively easy to hit. It all depends on your particular abilities. You could be a high h'capper for so many different reasons. As some have said. Go and try some different models. But as Dave says. You got to be able to use them first and foremost. Scorecards matter, the look of the club you will learn to love as your h'cap drops.

Just giving my opinion Pete i wasnt telling him to go straight out and buy them...After all they are players clubs.
Im off 19 and i hit them pretty well.and yes iv had my moments with them but now im starting to love them.
Who's to say that the OP wouldnt be able to hit a better players Iron....After all you need to feel comfortable with what your looking down at when addressing a ball..I think if you've a bad swing then there is no golf club that can fix this.
Super GI,GI, or players for that matter only lessons.
As the OP said he would prefer a GI Iron with a thin topline thats why i suggested the S2.
And also i think you'll find without getting into the Blades vs Cavity backs debate players cavity backs do have a small amount of forgiveness in them.....They wouldnt be cavity backs otherwise.

I like a thin top line.

Forgiveness is something I can do without. If you thin a players club, or thin a GI club, no difference. Ditto for shanks. That's my game then. I always sell my clubs 'sweet spot unused'.
