Miserable weather all year so far - but today - lovely sunny warm Saturday evening and forecast set fair for tomorrow. But what do you know - the course has been closed from 3:30pm today and all day tomorrow as we have our main open competition of the year tomorrow - The Silver Frigate (RIP) - and not playing in it (unless there are last minute pull-outs). Really - just not fair.

Maybe its a DMD only comp?:D

Which would be OK as I have my very own integrated DMD that automatically adjusts for wind speed and direction, humidity, temperature and precipitation - also takes into account ground slope and direction of growth and lebgth of grass. Dead good and completely within the rules.

I wasn't going to play as it's two rounds and I thought my Mrs wouldn't have it - and it costs ££s to enter. But she is away all weekend and not back until Tuesday - so I'll maybe go to the club first thing and hang around for a withdrawal or 'no-show'

Go steal the trophy then!

Oh yeah! Someone already did that! :mmm:

Did they ever get it back? Or find who did it?

Catholic only comp then :smirk:

Didn't play this morning as we were making the choices on décor for the new house and off to Leatherhead to pick up the new Pings this afternoon. Plan is to hit balls tomorrow early and get an idea of yardages and then go out for a few holes late tomorrow afternoon and be ready for the Nike pairs with Hawkeye on Monday

It's a hard life hey Homer.
Enjoy

nah - you get out there and have a good knock. Should be in good nick - will be interested to hear your thoughts on strengths weaknesses of the place - good points and bad points.

No problem....just such a shame that there won't be a trophy to present

Well - I turned up early in case of no shows - but didn't get in. Ah well. Couple of us got a complimentary at The Army. Was in great conditrion as their Open was played on Saturday - and pins were sill in comp positions. Pity I played well - mind you two rounds in the heat of yesterday would have been a struggle for me :)

HEAT? what heat?

mercury bubbled yesterday at a skin peeling 15* oooo what a scorcher!

Forecast for tomorrow is a WALL of water and wind will descend upon the dear green place while the south basks in 'summer' whatever that is:confused:
