Hopefully its a reminder to contractors who dont pay their subbies on time.

I wouldnt usually condone this type of behaviour but on this occasion i will.

The vast majority of those lads on that site have been self employed subcontractors who are possibly living week to week relying on a regular wage.

It’s not long just finished refurbishment and we were due in there soon to put our stuff in - at first I thought it was just a bit of a pee take of when the insides were gutted but the video shows it inside and all the new equipment is there - hopefully our cabling hasn’t been damaged

Will be interesting to know who didn’t pay up - Travelodge or the contractor

Groundworker contractor apparently. Not the first time their wages were late since theyve been on the job.

It wouldnt surprise me if Titan(main contractor) have shafted the ground workers company (sub contractor)and he's bumped his subcontract labour only lads.
 
It looks like the lad actually was paid and didn’t go through until Monday due to his bank having issues , he never checked his account 😲

But now a fund me site has been set up and it has nearly 5 K !

That’s not what the main contractor has said or what other lads have said on that site.
 
I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more these days main contractors/clients are terrible at paying/withholding monies

Sometimes non payment means you don’t eat for small Subbies

But I’m not aware of the details it makes a good headline though
 
been through this myself twice in the same year. 4 weeks without pay both times.
Agency didn’t sign b2b contract with the payroll company or feel it was important. Twice I had to send a formal greivance off.

It’s unfortunate there is a lengthy process to follow otherwise it’d be straight to court.

Perhaps a digger would of got payment quicker.
