The Torrance @ fairmont

I actually prefer the Kittocks, though not many people do. The wind and rain were really bad when playing the Torrance and I played the Kittocks on a flat calm day, so that may have influenced my decision somewhat.

I just feel that the Torrance tries to be something it's not (i.e. a links layout) and a few of the greens just seem to have been dropped behind the burn that runs through the layout. The two holes that the Torrance got form the old Devlin (holes 2 & 3) are not as good as the ones it lost to the Kittocks (Holes 17 and 18 on the Kittocks)

One thing that the Torrance does have in its favour is that it seems to be better kept. The greens are usually slightly better and the condition of the bunkers is far better. As Dodger says it shall be good just now with the Seniors being on

Played the Torrance course last month but not played the Kittocks so cant comment on the differance, but I didnt find the course to hard but the day I played there was very little wind.

I have a spare strokesaver in a nice fairmont bag if its any use to any one, just pm me and I will gladly post it.

Dont know if you get this anyway as part of your greenfee as the day I played it was a corparate event.

Cheers for the feedback gents, I'm sure it will be a good day out...it's only costing £15!...plus the obligatory pit-stop in Anstruther on the way home for a chippy!!!

Thought the course was great, a nice mix of holes with some challenging ones and others that were easier.Conditioning was superb and the greens were some of the best I've played on.I'd deffo go back.
