I see the national chip wrapping news paper has dropped the labour party and Cameron now sees the Sun as an important paper. As if by magic it’s now important to him, it really shows the total plonker that he is.

Tell me anyone….what are the Tories going to do when they get in. I’ll tell you, for years to come they will blame the labour party for all the misery they will inflict on us. It's going to happen......that wummin done it years back.

Err.

To put The Sun into context. All I need to do is mention Rupert Murdoch.

The Sun used to be a 'blue paper' throughout my teen and adult life, and then it backed Tony. Rupert is a clever beast, he knows which horse to back and when. Some papers remain blue, red or orange for what seems like forever, but The Sun does change.

Who reads it anyway!?

Of course, the reds have done such a great job so far......!!

All as equally bad as each other, and to be frank, this recent financial crisis was allowed to happen by the various worldwide goverments that just let the financial institutions run rough shod over the governments. No government could have or would have prevented this.

When a government gets back to common sense policies instead of headline grabing bull, this country will be better off.

From that point of view, anyone that is prepared to admit that continually increasing funding to the public sector is the wrong thing to do, and actually make it efficient instead, gets my vote. Regardless of political persuasion.

It's about time that we as a country stop being swayed by media opinion and hype and actually make our own minds up as to what's important to us as individuals, and forget about the 'class' voting that goes on for generations in this country.

More money for x, y or z, doesn't mean better!

FWIW, Maggie didn't kill off British manufacturing, the Unions and appauling management did. To harp on about something that happened 20 plus years ago is not helpful or constructive to todays climate. Brown is a different leader to Blair, and to say that they're the same would be non-sensicle. To compare Cameron to Maggie is just as ridiculous. Go with what is right at the time. Why not compare Cameron to Churchill for example if you really want to. It's just silly!

I don't want to pick an argument, but it's this type of attitude that Maggies coming back that will hold this country back.

Leaders reign over good times and bad times. Fiscally, Blair had a good session to be in power, where as poor old Gordon has been well and truely stuffed by circumstances. Tony did the right thing going when he did, and I reckon he knows it.

Hold on to your knickers there ma man. I’m not comparing anyone to anyone. I happen to mention a couple of names and your jumping to conclusions that I’m drawing comparisons.

Who suggested Maggie killed off british industry, I didn’t. Harp on….see the length of your post. But I do hate Maggie with a passion, my mum and dad who struggled all their lives for every single penny they ever had paid big time when the poll tax was inflicted on them.

My point is simple, all of a sudden Cameron sees the SUN as something important and he could be right. But he wouldn’t have said that yesterday. Get my point.

I don't disagree with you regarding Camerons comment regarding The Sun. It's no different to when The Sun swapped to Tony back in the late 90's.

From that point of view I agree.

But I would like to think that we as a nation can cut through all this irrelent hype and past history and concentrate on today and the future. Not the past. I'm sure that we all have heart breaking tales of our parents and grandparents and previous governments, of any type. It's irrelevent today.

As I said, I have no desire for an arguement. I respect your point of view, I just don't neccesarily agree with all of it. But thank god we do have the freedom in which to do so.

I can't see that the support (or not) of the sun will matter very much. It has a circulation of about 3 million copies, which when compared to the UK population is minimal, and most of their 'readers' don't get past the third page, unless it is to look at the footy results.

The Sun is just following the trend, it's pretty obvious who'll win the election so they want to be able to say they supported the winners. They may only sell 3 million copies, but on average every paper sold is read by 3 people, so that makes an effective circulation of circa 9 million.

The left-right divide was much more obvious back when Major-Kinnock were contesting the 1992 election. It beggars belief to call the current Labour party leftish or red. Have you sen the amount of public money they are spending on private initiatives?

It is well known that Murdoch pere does not like Cameron personally, but James Murdoch is a big mate of Osborne, so this was a foregone conclusion, just delayed a bit.

Interesting that Labour now see the lower middle classes and "hard working families" as the battle ground for the election. Strong overlap with Sun readers. Mandy was reportedly very unhappy in private with the Sun's shift.

The Scum has always been a tory paper, that why they backed Blairs New Labour which has carried out more tory policies than the conservatives ever managed.

The Sun is supporting the Tories because Cameron has been grooming them for a couple of years. His chief spin doctor was the editor of the News of the World so has used his contacts to the max.

Oh, and Cameron has promised to abolish the regulator OFCOM, who Murdoch doesn't like because it keeps his megalomania in check, and to break-up the BBC .........
