Christopher Timothy simply IS James Herriott. Just as the only Del and Rodney are David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst...

Sometimes the BBC should just leave us with those characters

For anyone wondering what this silly woman is going on about check out Young James Herriott on the BBC...

I think it's very good, and like the guy playing young Herriot.

After all Amanda, it is supposed to be "Young James Herriot. ;)

I think it is truer to the real James Herriot, and I am really enjoying the series. Much grittier and just how I imagined a vetinery college would be just after the first world war.

Ahhh to be young again !! Funny actually as I like all the characters except James who comes across as a bit of a bumbling idiot - perhaps that's what they intended. I'll stick with the 3rd episode whenever that's on (good old sky plus will sort that out for me) and moan at the TV through much of the hour

havent seen it but coincidentally Chris Evans today was RAVING about it as exceptional TV and Drama, must have a look now as I absolutely loved All Creatures Great and Small- siegfried was a wonderful character and I still watch them on Dave (or whatever its called) so it will be interesting and quite hard I'd imagine not to directly compare the two.

I'm sure once he "Graduates", the good 'ol BBC will make sure his "Bumbling days" are over.

What's the 3rd episode?
