the olympic torch

All going according to plan then....

If they're an hour late on the first day...

That means it'll be about a week late getting to here!!

It's coming down my road! No joke.

Maybe I could make a blockade with some cars and stuff, kidnap the torch and ransom it for £5,000,000.

Trouble is, is not allowed to go out and the I reckon the police chopper would find me a bit easily with it's heat sensors.

Damn, almost a plan there :)

seen on the local news this evening someone ran near the torch and got bundled by the guards who run along with it was quite funny to watch this fella getting bundeled into the hedge haha

On the BBC News just now was a lady torch bearer selling her torch and uniform in aid of charity, currently on eBay @ £40,900.00! Ending in 7 mins.

Also a guy in Gosport selling a torch, currently @ £4,100.00, but when you read the desciption closely you'll see that what he is actually selling is a photo of the Olympic torch.

Comes through the mighty village of Lochwinnoch in July, and I must be in the minority as I really want my kids to witness and experience it.

it went for £153,100:eek: isnt there 8000 of them and the torch bearers paid £247 each if they wanted to keep them. thats crazy money.

I'm also going to watch it and take my son to see it, its history and its synonymous with something pretty big on this planet

On the news this morning...the torch blew out while being carried by a guy in a wheelchair...back to Athens then:whoo:. But I expect it can be re-lighted using a Greek fag lighter just to demostrate what a load of over hyped nonsense it is.

Certainly not the minority I think, it passes within 1 mile of my home on Wednesday afternoon and we are really looking to taking our children up to see it. The local community is making a real effort to welcome it through. But then I've also been a patriotic type whose extremely proud of my country. Feel sorry for those who speak against it.

Supporting anything regardless of its worth just because its British doesn't make you any more of a patriot than those of us posting against the torch. Why has Jim Pocknell of the Kent Golf Partnership been chosen to carry the thing? There are many other proper volunteers in the golfing community who have actually done something other than park their fat arses on committees.

Don't think so as my daughter is carrying it when its going thro Lerwick and not paying to keep her one

only quoting BBC news, thats great you get to keep it, thats the way it should be:thup: post a pic when your daughter is carrying it

I watched the last few minutes of one of the torches (apparently one of the first 100) selling on ebay last night. It was at £95,000 when I started watching and sold for just under £106,000

There's money out there somewhere!

I'm guessing the money will be used to pay for the security for the 10 years that the Olympic stadium stands idle before 'webuyanycar.com' buy it and turn it into the world's largest car showroom!
