We had them in Northern Ireland for a while. They didn't last nearly as well as they were said to.

4 years eh? Not quite. Clydesdale launched the first in late 2014 following a commemorative launch in May of that year. Time might go slower in Troon than the rest of Scotland.

Two things I hope happen in currency in the next few years.
1. Pretty much everywhere adopts apple/android/contactless pay
2. We round down/up to the nearest 5p and ditch the 1p and 2p coins.
I don't have a wallet now as I only use cash at two or three places and I plan getting money out in advance.
