The Honours System

AP McCoy gets a knighthood. Not sure that is right irrespective of a glittering career. Still not convinced by the whole thing other than recognising the unsung heroes that do so much for local communities and charities

Actually Cameron doesn't give a monkeys what anyone thinks as he knows Labour are pretty much as effective and noticeable as a fart in a Harry hurricane at the moment and he's outta there in four years time in any case - looking forward to his own grand elevation to the House of Lords no doubt.

so what of Ed Miliband's strategist getting an honour? Have you conveniently forgotten that?

c'mon H, they're all as bad as each other. Your pandering one side of the argument does your point little service. At least recognise that all political parties play the same game.
 
So many unsung heroes get deserved honours, but let's moan about the minority that in some opinions don't.

Sorry but I am fed up with people moaning all the time. Look for the positives in life and you may get more out of it.:rant:

Most folk believe Barbara Windsor should have received a Damehood years ago for services to sexual innuendo.
It's nice to see that somebody's finally given her one.
 
Well thank you. I got an "GYC" in the actual honours list for "Get your coat". But after that appalling first post to open this thread, I thought it needed a smile brought to it! Happy New Year to one and all from the Shark, Mrs Shark and all the little Sharks.

Really? Surely a campaign by the SNP for Scotland to vote yes in an independence referendum would be more "destructive to the unity of the UK".

as for the tax avoidance case; sorry but I've always believed HMRC are to blame for the loopholes, not the people who've taken advantage of them.

Nope.......you said a campaign that was destructive to the unity of the UK. A campaign that had the sole aim of breaking up the UK was far a more destructive campaign theme. Just because the SNP campaign failed doesn't change that fact.
