Been hitting the ball well 99.9% of the time recently so i have been very chuffed with my performances. Played yesterday and shot 8 over on 9 holes ( not my best but more than happy with how i played. Played the same 9 holes with lads are of a better standard an *** an extra 10 on top. I was awful. I was making mistakes i havent done for months... Stupid stuff like lifting my head up way too early. I always find i produce the goods on my own or with players that arent too good. I know this is screaming out the pressure i put on myself and i can hold my hands up and admit that but my question is what do you do to override this. How do you cope with nerves/pressure. My mental game really needs improving.

i say the more you practice the more comfortable you will be with your shots ,no matter who you play against,,,I'm abit sad i like to practice on the course by myself without scoring ,then I'm eager to play against others on competition days

this weekend i did alot of three putts ,the only good thing was going last of the tee ,,i was enjoying watching what i had to beat these were my best shots of the day

Doing it more often is the simple answer. Same as a rookie on tour trying to win for the first time or McIlroy at the US Open after Augusta. You need to get use to the pressure, find a pre-shot routine that focuses yourself and calms you down so you can play the shot with clarity and switch off between shots. I'd look at the Rotella books as a guide
