The Essex - Good, Bad, ugly?

Anyone played the essex golf and country club? Never been, but it looks good on the website (what course doesn't!) just wanted some honest feedback. If it helps I'm planning on going in July.

If the one near Earls colne, played quite a lot over the years as green fees, as well as society.

Course is pretty much flat so easy walking, some nice holes, some water on the course, some challenging, fairly long from when I have played it as not much run(which normally has been in the winter/spring months), clubhouse is a bit so so.

Small Airfield next door, so can always look at planes or that, if a bad day on the course.

Really nice course definitely on a long side. I was a member for some time, more resort with a hotel gym and a swimming pool than your standard golf club. Really good food in the bar.
Always happy to play over there when Im back to Essex.
