A group of freinds and I head to the lakes for a walking/eating and drinking week every march and the last 3 years we have made sure it coincides with the festival as we have a few 'punters' amongst us.

we have had to base ourselves in Keswick as it the only town in 'central lakes' with a bookies. It usually clashes with Champions league week so there is football on every night...

Morning on the fells, afternoon/ evening in the pub / bookies...

Looking forward to it.

Only 3 weeks away..

Less than a week away now, looking forward to it here it can't come quick enough.

I'm just weighing up my final selections for the 1st days racing. Love it.

the first day can make or break the whole festival. Supreme novice, arkle, champ hurdle, the mares hurdle. You tend to either be minted or skint after Tuesday.

Love Keswick. There are some good boozers!

On His Own is to be supplemented for the Gold Cup on Friday, there goes my Grand National Ante post bet down the swanny, though I fancy it to give Bob's Worth a good run.

Irving, Trifolium, The New One and Shutthefrontdoor carrying some of my cash today, hope Quevega wins again (but too short to back imo). The other handicaps look next to impossible. Have to say not overly confident on anything today so stakes being kept pretty small to start

Have gone Rock on Ruby in the 2.05 and My Tent Or Yours in the Champions Hurdle.

Vautour won the first so a few of you in profit already!

Yep, today and tomorrow's spends covered already and had the 3rd place in a big each way multiple so decent start there as well

Long may it continue
