The Berkshire - Rocketing Up My Rankings

Fantastic news - the Berkshire have now decided that they should make their own Yorkshire puddings rather than buy in the rubbish ones they used to have.

The new found quality of the carvery consequently shoots them up the rankings now and the Red Course suddenly appears in my top 10 of inland tracks. The Yorkshire puddings were the final piece of the jigsaw that facilitated this. Other bonuses were the two bottles of Lebanese Chateau Musar which was absolutely gorgeous, as was Jodie, our minx of a waitress who squeezed my bum.

With a decent lunch on board, my eyes were properly opened at last to the delights of the Red Course. It really is a fantastic track and I had a lovely day there on Wednesday in crisp air and late Autumn sunshine. The mix of 6 par 3's, 4's and 5's is a rare treat and the course was in lovely condition for the time of year.

Highly recommended. Especially if you have 4 birdies and take the money from your host!

The only downside was the lemon meringue pie which lacked acidity and sharpness.

Playing there is March, so will check they are are honouring their agreement with you Dave.;)

Played there in October, and to be honest the desserts were disappointing. Had much better ones at West Hill, where the food was the best I have had there. I will put the Berkshire desserts down to a one off.

Makes a change the waitress squeezing your bum, rather than the other way round. Dreadful news at my Club is that Sam the young brunette is leaving this week.:(

Food was good when we were there in March - decent spread. West Hills was nice also - looking forward to going back to Berkshire in March.

Is Sam the young pretty girl from the halfway hut :D

I much prefer the home made chicken and ham pie served up by the pretty young blonde at Cooden.
And her baps are screaming out for some gentlemans relish to be spread across them.

Swinley is the clear #1 in the puddings top 100!

Snelly...your bum doesn't make it into my top 100 I'm afraid ;)

Not as seriously into puddings as others on here, but the Swinley Cheeseboard is certainly top notch!

Berkshire (Red, Blue with Lunch) is the best Summer Day's Golf in England imo. Probably doesn't lose much with just a single round at this time of year though.

If we're going to start ranking courses by food and female bar staff then I'd like to nominate Romsey.

The course doesn't compare to The Berkshire, West Hill etc, infact I nominated it for my bottom 5.

But the after match catering was excellent, and the bar maid certainly wasn't shop bought :o

He had to climb down off the stool he had to climb on to see her over the counter.
I think she thought Rick was my dad.

She thought that even more when we told her that

Food at Swinley is particularly good.

Her brunette mate is far superior.

this is wonderful news to hear- bravo Sir for passing on this joyous news.

It reminds me of a time at Old Sunningdale and Royal St Georges a day apart, beautiful summer days, wonderful golf where everyone in the 4 ball was under par yet finishing after dark to find no food or drink just left a bitter taste and vowed not to accept the hospitality again next year.

its not all about the golf:rolleyes:
