I'm not sure how many followed through on Jason's challenge or have practiced the things he suggested. For those of you who didn't participate I thought I'd share how it's helped me improve.

He gave us a series if tests for week one. Then in subsequent weeks he set us some challenges looking at chipping, bunker play and pitching. We then repeated the tests. The caveat for me is I left my old golf club mid way through the challenge so couldn't do a like for like test. That said my score still more than doubled and once our greens have recovered from hollow tining they will get even better.

What he has done is given me a benchmark of where I need to be. Changed my short game practice to be game focused which has improved my concentration and application. And given me confidence. Lots of confidence.

So I just wanted to say a very public thank you to Jason. Top man 👍

Although time and the weather meant I couldn't follow through each week, it was an interesting challenge, which I will go through again once the practice areas are in better condition

i am making more up and downs using lower lofted clubs than I used to after doing most of these challenges.

its been fun. I will revisit some of these again over the summer.

thanks Jason.

I'll echo the above. Really got me thinking about short game. Unfortunately my results don't show massive improvement but the practice area I had to complete it on are much less than perfect.

Top guy who has helped to bring me down 2 shots in 2 medals!

Got any links to the challenges?

Wouldn't want to share Jason's approach but one practice approach I introduced was from Golf Monthly. I wanted to practice my chipping in the garden but obviously you can't judge the roll there. So instead I concentrated on landing zone as I was doing with the pitching practice session. I use 6 balls on tees varying from 1 - 2 yards away and try to knock them off on the full with my chip shot. Infuriatingly fun :)

Just seen this post, thanks very much Tiger, glad you liked it. Keep up the good work and I am sure you will have a great year on the course. I know I received a bit of feedback that people were receiving too many emails, which could of easily been rectified by turning of the email notifications.

I really wanted to do this but I've just undergone some fairly serious swing changes and they were taking a while to bed in, so any practice time I had was dedicated to that. I'm getting there, it feels very close!

Once I can get near the green confidently I'll certainly be revisiting. I really liked the look of some of the challenges, thanks Jason.

No problem Jason  Now feel much more confident around the greens and landing it where I want to more often than not :)

As for the moaners
