What ever you do, do it gently.
If you dont, you'll scare her off for ever.

Show here how to hold the club, roughly. how to stand at the beginning and at the end and start off with half swings.
I would suggest a lesson as soon as you can to prevent any wrong advice or arguements between family teaching anything to family.
Dont insist on everything being by the book at first.
Roughly there will do to start with.
To help her get it off the ground, tee it up.
That will give her a bit of confidence.
Good luck

I used to show my mates the basics years ago when I was encouraging them to take the game up. Nothing serious, just grip and swing, but they all had decent hand eye coordination, so could do it pretty much by themselves.

But teaching my mum? She'd end up hating me.

I tried last year with HID. Tough, very, very tough. I suggested the pro, but she didn't want to be told what to do by a stranger. She also didn't want to be told what to do by me, either.
