I was recently looking at PGA tour pros with little or no wins and wondered why some other golfers win repeatedly

for instance:

Brett Quigley - 407 PGA starts - 0 wins

Kevin Chappell - 180 PGA starts - 1 win

Ian Poulter - 230 PGA starts - 2 wins

then there's this:

Phil Mickelson - 567 PGA starts - 42 wins

I appreciate that there are hundreds of variables to consider for any 4 day golf event, but what does it take to be good enough to win and stay good enough?

Bloody hard to win

Got to beat 100+ of the worlds best players

Lot of players don't take the risks as they grinding just to keep card.

Like you could risk a top 10 going for the win or just take it easy and come in with a nice pay but no W

Also if you ever been playing well in the monthly medal and left bag of nerves on the 17th imagine what it is like on the PGA tour

I guess it's mental and keeping focus at the business end. A lot of these guys can put three great rounds together out of four but the other one will let them down.

The fields are usually quite big and it only takes one player to be in the zone for 4 rounds and they will win.

The better indication of a player would be order of merit, whether they consistently finish high up the table even if they don't get many wins
