Swapping my 'illegal' driver (but keeping the distance)?

Time is drawing near when I must consign my (sometimes) beloved Taylor Made XR03 to the garage or face disqualification on the somewhat annoying grounds that it will be illegal.

So I would appreciate any advice on what replacement I should be looking for? I am slightly wary of all these drivers with weights to shape the shot (or correct your fault!) and am looking for a neutral driver. If relevant I am a 5 H'cap with a relatively fast impact speed.

Advice appreciated

I like the Mizuno MX500. It sits true and square, sounds great and goes like stink. I actually think that all the new heads are much of a muchness and that it is all down to shaft. You could buy a head and pop the shaft from your illegal club on it.

I would go Titleist 907 D2 for a traditional looking driver, neutral face, pear shape etc, although I have a D1 cheese triangle.

Get custom fit for the shaft.

I think the 'hot' face drivers are so far behind the modern heads available now that changing will actually be beneficial, it certainly won't be shorter.

Modern shafts are way better than your old shaft too, unless you had your 03 modified.

Once you change, you will wonder why you waited so long.

I agree you will likely see some improvement in the distance you hit your driver and more importantly your accuracy when you change. Technology has come a long way since the rules were put forward.

I have a D2 and love it but don't be afraid to try some of the more unusual models. The TaylorMade Super Quad is an awesome club and you can set it up as neutral.
