Summer songs

Okay, this is the playlist I went for. I can still add to it of course. Not all suggestions made it on but many did. For those that I didn't choose I either don't like them or they didn't feel summery enough. My choices, just opinion.

Earth, Wind and Fire : September
Jackson 5 : I Want You Back
Stevie Wonder : Signed, Sealed, Delivered
Jess Clynne : Hold My Hand
Wham : Club Tropicana
Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah : Lake Shore Drive
Justin Timberlake : Can't Stop the Feeling
The Lovin Spoonful : Summer in the City
Don Henley : The Boys of Summer
Wham : Young Guns
Mark Robson : Uptown Funk
The Jackson's : Blame it on the Boogie
Beach Boys : Surfin USA
Isley Brothers : Summer Breeze
Earth, Wind and Fire : Boogie Wonderland
Village People : YMCA
Tavares : Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel
The Beatles : Here Comes the Sun
The Beatles : Good Day Sunshine
ELO : Mr Blue Sky
Bob Dylan : Mr Tambourine Man
Donovan : Sunshine Superman

Thanks everyone

Bran Van 3000 drinking in LA, a great summer tune whilst the party’s bangin’.
And for something more mellow to finish off the evening,
Mona Lisa’s and Mad hatters by Elsie John.
Trust me, they hit the spot perfect like 👍

Was Summer Breeze the album version with the awesome guitar solo-outro? If not, it's worth getting hold of ;)

As I said, my list. I don't like the Mungo Jerry song, YMCA makes me smile. It's upbeat and cheery, same as the Timberlake song.

Music is subjective, the list is inevitably not going to please everyone.
There is absolutely no excuse for Timberlake at your age ;)

I know, I was just joking.;) I've been known to get up and camp it up with the best of them when YMCA comes on!

You're talking to the guy with most diverse and probably worst taste in music in the world. Vengaboys anyone....?:D

Sorry, I rattled the reply out. I should have added a smilie to soften the first comment. I posted the thread because my music knowledge is not great. My saved albums are mainly 80's artists, my era. I need a bit, lot, of assistance in widening the songs I hear. I know what songs I like when I hear them but the names rarely stick so I need muso's to pitch in and provide the info. This thread has been really useful but I also accept that any list will upset or offend some as their favourite song is left off. To some it is like leaving Seve out of the top European Ryder Cup team of all time, which obviously I would never do but you get the gist of my point.

Vengaboys, ha ha. That could top the Timmy Mallet and Sabrina posts of earlier :D. Ahhh, Sabrina. Also my era...…………………..

He may be a plank but that song is a belter of a summer song. You will be pleased to know I make no attempt to follow his dance moves, wear a cap backwards or wear high tops.
Nope, just no, don’t care!

Stuff Timberlake's music. I just regard the fact he was in a tremendous film "In time" as cred enough/.

Wham! Really? Oh hell no, I've got a very eclectic taste when it comes to music, will listen to most things, but Wham and James Blunt are not two of them.

How about:-

Summer Song - Joe Satriani
Summer Wind - Frank Sinatra
Summer Sun - Texas
Sun is Shining - Bob Marley
Summer in the City - Joe Cocker
Music to watch the girls by - Andy Williams
We have all the time in the world - Louis Armstrong
