Suggest me a new putter

If I was buying tomorrow, I'd try and find out what Peter Hanson was using....(TM? spidery thing?)

I don't think you can win with putters. What's good for holing out (a nice blade-type, in my opinion) is probably less good for long distance lag putts, that's why I'm sticking with a high MOI mallet.

Like some people have said putters are very personal things but I've spent more money on putters than I care to mention but since I bought my Scotty last year I've never putted so well. So my advice is try a few Scotty's, find one that suits your eye and buy that, I promise it won't let you down. Costly yes but very much worth it for the most used club in the bag.

I have to agree that putting is such a personal thing that one man (or womans) ideal putter may be another golfers putting poison!

When I tried to replace my Wilson Staff putter a couple of years ago I tried my playing partners and ended up trying lots of manufacturers and head designs over a number of days in various golf shops.

After trying and finding the best one that consistantly put the ball where I wanted on the practie green I made my choice. The one that suited me was the Odyssey Ice White Mini Teron-T. I liked the alignment aids and the weight in the back of the club.

Go and try as many as you can and narrow down what you like..

Scotty 2012 California Fastback. Double your budget plus some but worth every penny. Why spend £200 on a driver and only £50 on a club you use far more?

Before you buy always have a roll with it. Don't worry about holing, it's all about how it looks/feels at address. If you like the look and feel of a putter, chances are you'll putt well with it when you get used to it.

I would say the same but the Del Mar

I'd also suggest getting fit as it throws up factors you may not have considered.

Recently purchased the Nike Method 3i, probably the type of style you are looking for, extremely happy with it, it has given me a new confidence on the green, but as others have said, I tried plenty and this just "worked" for me!

I have one of these

Working pretty well at the moment and so easy to align. Combines parts of each style.

I have the same one, am very happy with mine!

I've got a Scotty Newport 2 in mint conditionabout to go on ebay, offers over £200 please :-D

Thanks for the comments. this isnt the first time i have needed a putter change and yes like most i go full circle and end up with a blad putter hence the daytona i am using today

I have been measured and a basic putting lesson my true putting stroke is straight back straight thru etc so a balanced face putter like a small mallet is best however i struggled with the rossie for feel hence sticking to the daytona

What i need is a mini mallet

Anybody seen the Tiger Shark putters ? any good ?
