Sub 3 hour rounds

My mate and i played in our Sunday stableford yesterday, we tee'd off at 2 and walked off the 18th at 5PM on the dot. we were held up by a 3 ball on the last 3 holes but only by a couple of mins on each shot in.

Thats not my point though, there were 6 American Guys teeing off after us and they had a caddie for each 3 ball. A

Anyway, we played and didn't really ever see them again. I went in the clubhouse had a drink then took Baldrick our newish German Pointer for a walk along the beach and back along the lane that runs past the green keepers compound this takes around about an hour and takes you past the 18th tee, who's just walking onto the tee box as we walk past the 3 guys who were right behind us.

I'm not sure how it took them so long, theres no rough to speak of and it wasn't windy in the slightest, so how did it take a 3 ball 1 and a half hours longer to get round???? Yes thay prob wanted to enjoy the round and take in the whole exp, but the course was backed up behind them !!!

Should have set the dug oan them ;)

Did you chin them about 5 mins on a tee box ?

Unfortunately I was not near them otherwise they would have received some sound advice.
One of the first four players looked like he was wondering why all the locals were staring and pointing at him.
We usually have a Marshall [you can't call them Rangers in Scotland] who sorts them oot, unfortunately he was not on this morning.

Right, so i have just spent the best part of 40 minutes reading all 23 pages of this thread and i have a major problem..

Am i digger, a chomper or a weekend warrior? I'm still not sure.

i feel for all the guys behind them, the green keepers or course marshal should be on the course with a mobile phone any massive hold up sent them a text slow players on what ever hole they are playing on and the marshal should zoom up on his little tractor give them a first warning and watched, if still holding people up they should be told to leave the course

We don't have a marshal, though we do have starters.

It was a Sunday so no greens keepers on the course and its nothing to do with them anyway.

Plus how do you just chuck of 6 guys who have just spent £600 plus to play the course.

but i'm still none the wiser why it took them so long, i know one of the caddies so i'll ask him next time i see him.

At the end of the days its the players resp to keep up with play or let others though.
