Stupid things you miss from your childhood...

The Avengers, well actually Emma Peel in leather.
Elm Park
Playing football nearly every day until it was dark.
Match of the day
New pairs of Puma Hatrick boots.
Staying up late to watch the moon landings.
Emma Peel in leather

Life was so simple when I was young. Play football and drool over Emma Peel.

Playing kerby until it got dark every night
Hitting golfballs on the local playing fields
Campfires in the local woods
Finding golfballs in the river down the side of Holywood Golf Club then selling them to members to finance tins of top deck shandy and a snowball from the local bakery.
Little later on, playing on my amstrad cpc464 and strappung bangers onto my toy figures and trying to kill them in a million and one different ways. Those were the days..

How could I forget - toy soldiers.

The Crusader knights, queens guards, english tommies against the arabian horsemen, german wehrmacht and the red indians.

Against a backdrop of a Norman fort and a 7th US army stockade. Sometimes a hot wheels camaro or a millenium falcon would also find it's way onto the battlefield - Mix and match was where it was at.

I used to love looking at the proper lead soldiers in Woolworths, but couldn't afford them. Especially the crusader and napoleonic figures.
