No ...this is not another post about the LPGA!

I have a couple of woods that still have the residue from the price stickers and the manufacturers sales information stickers on the graphite shafts. Any pointers what to use to remove these?

Clearly solvents are a worry as the shafts may be affected - what do people use?

I have an all purpose Goo remover - slightly solvent but not harsh at all. Orangey smelling too. Got it from a DIY place. Couple of drops on a kitchen towel and almost anything comes off easy-peasy.
Washing-up liquid works too. Might need a bit more of a scrub though.

I hate all these shaft stickers too. Why can't they have stickers that peel off easily? It's not that difficult is it?

A bit of turps or white spirit on an old rag, wipe it up and down the shaft, sticky goo no more.

I find the best thing to use is methylated spirit - it will not affect any of the materials.

As a scientist I would say this is pretty accurate, its just ethanol made synthetically so has methanol, toluene etc in it in trace levels.

Not something you want to drink or use in mixers!

Naturally produced ethanol does not have the byproducts as the route of synthesis is different.

Solvent to avoid would be acetone as it can burn plastics. Generally methanol, ethanol etc are not so bad with plastics.

Something called Sticky Stuff, which I believe you can get in places like Lakeland and Robert Dyas, etc.

Smells orangey too, so could be what Imurg's talking about.
