Steve Kean

Good coach, I will give him that. Not so sure about good manager.
That being said, he has done alright (not good) in the face of a board that know feck all about football and what seems like (if you take what's in the press) a pretty tight budget (although £8M for Rhodes doesn't suggest that).

I think he'll get it right. Board despite their lack of football knowledge seem prepared to back him and give him time.

I think the bloke has been treated like crap by fans, chief exec & owners.

I thought Blackburn played some good football last season, of course the league dosent lie and they were relegated,
but faced with the awful stuff thrown at him the bloke has stood tall and dealt with it all very well imo.

Good luck to him this season, if he gets the sack would gladly have him at Ipswich .. !

Seems to be doing better than Owen Coyle just now, who is generally regarded as a decent manager.

Im a Bolton fan and im still bemused by the fact that people think Owen Coyle is a good manager. He is the most clueless idiot ive ever seen. I would drive up to Blackburn and swap him for Steve Kean right now.

Worse than Megson?Seem to recall the fans there hating him.

I reckon Coyle is decent, he's been poached enough recently to suggest he has something

Coyle is a nicer bloke than Megson and thats it. Coyle is more tactically naive than any manager i have ever seen. He hasnt got a good eye for a player either. He keeps making the same mistakes over and over again and its getting silly. Ive never seen us concede so many goals and over the last 18 months the results have been abysmal.

I have supported Rovers since Clayton and Douglas. We lived next door to Bryan Douglas' mother in 1958 and had his boots from The 1958 World Cup in Sweden.

The basic problem was that they should not have got rid of Alladyce, ,like him or loathe him, or his long ball, he would have kept Blackburn safe with 48/50 points. He should not have been sacked and then they got rid of John Williams, one of the most respected Chief Executives in The Premiership. They then made promises Venky's to purchase Marque signings Ronaldino and ended up with 2nd rate players who were not good enough. Goodwillie for you guys North of the border is a classic example.

They had a terrible Agent Anderson who was being paid too much even for agents. They bought 1 guy for 500K from Barcelona and paid the Agent 1 million.

Kean would never accept it was his fault when things went wrong and his man management skills were lacking. The fans are part to blame but the problem initially was with the fans' high expectation when Venky's took over as they thought they were to be a 2nd Jack Walker. Venky's were not intersted in The Club

Kean was a good coach at Fulham but I never really thought of him as manager material. Didn't then and to be fair history has shown he hasn't really made a good fist of it so far. Never like to see anyone get abuse and some of the stuff at Blackburn was just wrong. If he wants to get his CV tidied I would suggest going down a tier or two and building a good side and taking them up and on some cup runs to learn his trade
