Steel shaft in 3 wood?

Just looking for some thoughts/experiences...

Does anyone on here play, or have played, steel shafts in their fairway woods?

Was playing with one of the pro's at our place who thought it would be more consistent, is that because it's heavier?

Interested on people's opinions really.

I used to have mizuno mp001 3 and 5 woods with steel shafts and found them to be quite heavy but pretty consistant the only thing was that i couldn't really get any distance out of them about 190 for the 5 wood and just over 200 with the 3, just for comparison i changed to a mp001 4 wood with a graphite shaft and usually got around 210-215 with it.
