Once you remove that tassle nonsense from the top they just look like regular green sneakers. I'd wear them then - must hide the grass stains at least.

I couldn't get away with them but yes, totally different and much better without. I would give a slight nod of appreciation to someone wearing those if I saw them

Bang on, Stan smiths were terrace classics.

I brought a pair back from France for my 11th birthday and they were the first ones with "straps". No-one in our school or round where I lived had even seen straps, and with them being Adidas as well, felt like a king.
