Looking for 2 victims, sorry volunteers, to join myself and Murph at Marriott Sprowston Manor near Norwich this Friday......12:48 tee off............it's a freebie....won't cost you anything...nada, zip, rein......

We're taking this Volvo thing seriously and this is our first warm up match..:mmm:

Also Murph can start to gauge my yardages so he can under club me again in the Trilby Tour next week at Frilford....

Let me know ASAP........

Rick

Hey Rick

Just down the road from me but alas I have no clubs atm and my cars in for a service too. You're doing the right thing by getting a round in there first as there are a few funny holes that you need to be aware of. Shame I couldnt just wander round with you to give you the lowdown.

Anyhows if you're up this way again or if you need a caddy for the event and I can help out i'd gladly come and cheer you both on. Local knowledge is great to have in these things.

Cheers Jammy

Hey Jammy.......would be great having you along to play on Friday.....you can borrow a set of irons mate no problems........take your pick.....I've got:
Callaway x forged with nippon nspro 1150gh tour stiff shafts 3-PW
Mizuno JPX 800 pro Project X 5.5 shafts 4-PW
TaylorMade MB Tour preferred nippon nspro 950 gh stiff 4-PW

Got a couple of wedges somewhere as well and a spare putter but no spare woods.

Where are you? I'm sure we could pick you up.....
You in?

btw...this isnt an actual Volvo event we're just playing there and trying to get a bit of practice together......draw hasn't been made yet for the Volvo knockout......

It must be the company, putting people off.

Or the weather forecast.

I have a new grip to try to bed in. Had a lesson last night, and the blade of the club now points at my left ankle at address. I have eliminated the right side of the fairway though.

Would have loved to come along as I'm free most of tomorrow but 4 hrs + each way is a little bit too much for me!!

Good luck in the match though guys.

This, for the same reason. Well...that and I'm not free. Generous offer though. As Murph said, it must be the company.

Steve, you get my text?

Gt 3 txt k m8!

Was just waiting to see what was going to happen with your transport mate. Bit of a potential bummer but not the end of the world mate.

Indeed. As I said to Rich. Saturday is the main event, and is easy enough for me to get to on public transport. Sunday might be a bit trickier, depending on where we play. If we can find a second game in the Reading vicinity, might make things more simple!

(P.S. - Sorry for thread hijack gents!)

This would be great but I am already playing tommorow, will have to let me know what you think of the place as i'm thinking of joining there next year even though it is a little pricey it is so close to home.

Played it a week ago the course is in lovely condition if not a little wet in patches. Not sure it will of dried out as we have had quite a bit of rain over the last few days.

Hope you have a good day.

Would I join this course?

No.

It's ok for a hotel course, but is unimaginative in layout, a bit dull, a bit new, with humpy bumpy greens that are soooooo slooooow. The protection for the course is stupidly penal rough, which makes it very slow to play. There are a few very nice holes, the 7th particularly, but there are not enough of them. It is also a bit windy.

Oh, and I lost.

Badly.

To rick.

Blimey! Do we need to remove all sharp objects from your house? Sounds like my worst nightmare!

Agree with Murph, course is a bit dull..........only 2 or 3 holes that stood out for me.........Surprised they are holding a Trilby Tour event here.

Cheers Murph and Rick, I do know what you mean about the course being a little dull there are imho a few there and back again holes with not much going on and very little water.

The greens where I play are about the same speed to Sprowston at the mo so I guessed they were slow because of the rain and the time of year. But maybe they are just slow for protection I dont know much about this kind of thing.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

Shaun
