Years ago, I was a member of a club in Germany (it was Bruggen Vicky) and every Saturday when there wasnt a medal on, the pro used to organise a spin up which he always played in.
My question is how many of you have played with your pro in a causual game other than a Pro-am and did you enjoy it?

Years ago Our pro Mitch always played the medals. A different group every time. I got to play once and for the front 9 I felt quite intimidated but settled down and then eagled a par 4 from 120 yards out - great look on Mitch's face!
Also, I've played in a Captain/Pro Challenge where they took on another pair in matchplay. Me and my partner were the only pair to win and we mullered them 6&5!

Assistant pro plays regularly with us plebs, senior Pro doesn't.

Ive played with a few pro's (oooer!)over the years and I thoroughly enjoyed it every time but one, thats when I played like a fool instead of my own game.

The pro joins in with quite a few "spin ups" at our club. A regular Saturday get together with the "A" team players sees him take the cash on a few occaisions, although he did have to shoot 65 at the weekend to scrape home!!

No. He does a few Capt/pro challenge matches through the winter, but not in the summer (capt has no time). Shame, as I would like to have a round with him (without paying £50 for the priveledge).

Ours doesn't seem to play at all except for Captain Pro games which are oversubscribed and ballotted. That would seem to indicate there is a demand he isn't filling. To my mind it would be a great opportunity to get to know the members, and this in turn would generate more business for him.

But what do I know. :D

Its when you just turn up at a specified time with nothing arranged. Those who also turn up, meet, throw the balls up to get playing partners and off you go

Asst Pro marked a card for me this morn and asked me if I want to play with him on monday mornings, He is looking to get down from 5 to 4 so he can go for his playing exam and try turn pro. Really good lad and has an excellent driver swing.

The pro goes out with people all the time from what I can gather, I'll try and collar him for a knock sometime, he is a great guy and all the members speak very highly of him. He loves his short game just like me so we could get on well! :D

Played nine holes matchplay with mine a couple of weeks ago,
popped in the pro shop after having a lesson to grab a card and have 9 holes to practice, said he'd come and join me - the guy is just awesome with the putter. I shot a 42 gross, 33 net and he still beat me 1 up! :o
