Got the wife to nip into AG for me as i reserved a stud wrench and pkt of cleats (fast twist). Well i am not happy at all, after removing (hard going) 2 cleats the 2 spikes on the wrench are bent ! I will be taking back tomorrow and try to get a different make. Seems now such a flimsy product especially when it says on the website about it "Even the toughest golf cleats are no match for the (make) Stud Wrench".

The problem is, the more you use your shoes the more dirt and grit gets under the studs and clogs them up. After every round I loosen the studs on my shoes and tigten them before the next round. That way, when I need to change them they come out without too much effort

Long nosed pliers are your friend for the ones that are properly stuck. One tip in each hole and just turn as usual. Much easier than the wrenches. They seem to be made for shoes that haven't been left with mud etc on them for a while.

I do without fail after every round since the first time I changed spikes and it took 30 mins to remove the old ones. A lesson learned the hard way.

Like I said, when you clean them, loosen the studs. Saves you a lot of time when you need to change them

Noticed one of my spikes had come off during my round this week. Annoying as only the 4th time I have worn these shoes. I'm guessing it was loose when I got them. Suppose I had better get to AG and get some new ones ready for the 36 hole club champs this weekend.

This is the best bit of kit for removing soft spikes as you don't have to rely on the holes. I changed mine a couple of weeks ago from the original spikes in my 12 month old shoes without any problems.

I don't agree with loosening them every now and again as the locking system is plastic on plastic and eventualy your cleats won't lock.
