Spelling police

It just won't go away. Some young lad posts about his Mum buying him Open tickets if he passses his GCSE's, and is quickly jumped upon for his grammar.

If you put a smiley in, it doesn't mean you aren't a knob !! I don't understand the mindset of coming on a Golf forum and correcting spelling/grammar. Surely there is a Pedants Monthly website

As long as it is legible who cares, if not just ignore it.

(right where is that soapbox smiley) :sbox:

It's a forum, people are allowed to post as they see fit (within the bounds of decency). Personally I find it less irritating than the monthly 'anyone who doesn't carry their bag is a wuss' crap.

I think the point is that it is hardly inclusive. If someone gets jumped up and down on by the spellling police they may think stuff this and not bother. Obviously the forum is a richer place the more posters you have.

Otherwise you would have a forum full of English teachers and Homer !:D

.... or "What's the best ball?"

I make my fair share of typos and should probably proof read everything before hitting the 'post' button... but do I care?

Right now I think it's funny with all the spelling police posts... although it's starting to grate.
