there was an interesting doc on last night about the Franco's spain and families of those exicuted after the Spanish Civil War and those tortured by the regime.
I knew a bit about the spanish civil war, but i have to say not much about Spain in the years after, it was a massive suprise the number who were exicuted, tourtured and imprisoned without Trial, not to mention the state sponsored stealing of Babies.
Even more suprising was that Spain had give a blanked amnisty after Frano died and many had still not had loved ones remains from mass graves. a group had to take out legal action from Argentina.
I'm a little suprised that nothing has ever been spoken this before and the it appears to have been all but forgotten, esp that nothing was done by the CHR or this was raised when spain Joined the EU.
food for thought
