Thought Harrington looked very comfortable out there and in control of his swing. Poulter seemed to be swinging well too. My man Westwood had an up and down day but is hanging in there although he didn't look as comfortable on the course as I've seen him. Wood driving was back to its erratic self and Garcia was also having problmes off the tee and on the greens. Entertaining viewing all round
Westwood was on a stormer on the front 9, just got away from him a bit on the back. But he's still in there.
Euro's seem to be showing well so far. Jimenez is up there too.
And that spitting, what the hell is that all about, on the green too. That's just plan and simple wrong. Someone really needs to have a word with Woods about that.
And real shame about Casey, especially at this point in the season.
filthy filthy man. To spit on the green, where people are going to be placing, marking and clearing the playing surface using their bare hands! He's not even discreet about it!
I remember mentioning this last week. They hit the nail on the head last night on Sky - for a man that is so talented and professional, it really is baffling why he does the spitting thing. It's bad enough watching footballers do it but you can kind of excuse high temp sportsmen needing to clear out.
Woods becomes even more dislikeable every time I see him, and this is the final straw, its disgusting.
When are they going to MTFU & tell him to get a grip, stop this disgusting habit,...... his petulance on the course, and start engaging the crowd to justify the quite frankly immoral amounts of money paid to him just to even be there, regardless of whether he wins or not.
Great to see Harrington have a good round its about time cos hes always been one of the good guys.
As for Woods , my missus was walking past when he gobbed one out and she went mad , calling him all sorts of rude things and a disgraceful role model. She even commented about his pouting like a little girl whos been told off. Had to agree with her (not just to keep the peace but cos she was right)
Didn't see last nights incident but I have seen enough in the past to understand what you are saying.
Isn't the young Tiger Woods who we all respected and admired as a younster a different animal from what we see today.
I dont know if this change co-incided with the death of his father but personally it wouldn't bother me if I never saw him swing a club again. Dont get me wrong I think (not difficult I know) he is one of the greats, but all this fanfair, police, bodyguards, get in the hole etc etc that goes with him, including the spitting, well I have had enough.
I not some old fuddy duddy, I've played football, rugby and have done enough athletics and swimming to last me a life time, and these action sports mean that from time to time you have to spit, but walking round a golf course isn't one of them.
The sooner some authority take this up with him the better, no player is bigger than the sport.
My wife (who isn't a golf fan) also saw the incident and had a good old rant. She can't stand Woods, so it doesn't make for good viewing to those outside the golfing fraternity.
Great to see POD have a good second round today, looks like all his "tinkering" is beginning to come together.
Hopefully he can keep it going for the next two rounds, a top five finish would be a fine boost for the PGA next week.
Didnt see Woods spitting on the green but this has to stop the PGA must take a firm hand and if necessary impose penalties for club abuse etc a la tennis.
