I am fortunate to own a number of pairs of golf shoes.
So I have;
1 pair of white footjoys with soft spikes
1 pair of white footjoys with metal spikes
2 pairs of black shoes with soft spikes (one pair is very formal in case I ever play someone very upmarket)
1 pair of spikeless

I choose my shoes based on occasion and weather conditions

Soft spikes for me, or spikeless now too, can't stand the metal spikes. Hate the feeling when walking on harder surfaces, and the noise too is dreadful. Plus the last guy I saw fall on the course was on steps leading to the tee, and he was wearing metal spikes.

Worst thing about metals is the marks they leave on greens when people don't pick up their feet. Have played behind the seniors a few times and noticed the dreadful marking around the hole.

Pro Stingers in the winter in my AQL's, my Nike Contour ll's with soft spikes are put to bed.

Not only far better in the early morning frosty conditions, but when subjected to mats in the winter their a must have.
