Slight exagerations........

To add to my earlier post, I know a fellow who actually was a pro at one time but suffered from a debilitating disease that sapped his strength. His play, post-illness, was pretty average, but his swing was (is) a thing of beauty. He just doesn't have the power to hit it with the force of a pro anymore.

But when he tells you about his former skills, it's believable.

Years ago we went on one of those 'team building' nights that the bosses think are a good idea - Ten pin bowling and a few beers was the plan. One of the team was a nurdy young lad who was apparently good at crown green bowls. We were trying to set some sort of handicaps up based on peoples ability so asked if his skills would transfer to which he said they did and he was quite good at 10 pin regularly scoring 200+....... hmmmm we thought.....come the night the first 6 went straight down the gutter and he scored about 45 in total. Fantastic, we were rolling about and he's never lived it down.
