Next spring I and my family are going to a wedding at this venue, near Fareham Hampshire. We will need to stay somewhere but don't know the area at all. Any suggestions? I'm happy to look past the usual suspects, Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holiday Inn etc.

There will be 4 of us and my son has had the bad manners to grow up so we can no longer fit into one family room. Airbnb is something I will use to search as renting a flat for a couple of days may be a good option.

We are happy to look at lodges, caravans etc to help keep the costs down. Any local knowledge out there.

Do you have an actual date? I'm assuming you'd like to be as close as possible for taxis or will someone be driving?

I suspect I will drive, long drive home the next day and I will not do that after drinking the night before. Nearer is easier but I am happy with 20 minutes or so from the venue. It is late April some time but I don't have an exact date to hand, it is an old friend of my wifes so I have not taken much notice in all honesty.

I suspect I either wont get the chance or it would tactically be a very poor idea. Is the course any good? Is it worth the potential conflict?

I like it but i wouldnt say its worth the conflict. 'Golf and Country Club' certainly raises expectations which it sadly doesnt fulfill. Its a middle of the road track which is a little overpriced.

As for a hotel, take a look at the Solent Hotel which isnt that far away. Not sure what its like though!

Thanks. It takes the thought out of my mind anyway. The chance to play would be Saturday afternoon / tea time so it would not be cheap then either.
