Single Figure Golfer Tour

We have been approached to put our main low handicap open on this tour schedule.

On the face of it there seems to be quite a few perks for the club in return for entrants e-mails. Anyone got any comments good/bad from either a player or club viewpoint?

Got through to the final days of this tour last year. Had a chance to go to Celtic Manor and do an 18 hole play off to see if I could get to play against the ex RC, WC and SC team. Couldnt get the time off work ...gutted tbh as it was all paid for too and really really wanted to play the 2010 course before the RC

I played in a few....got some Srixon balls for giving a bloke my e-mail address....doesn't really add that much to a normal open day...

Interesting to see what the data protection people would say about you giving someone else my e-mail address without you letting me know (from how you have written the OP)....

To be honest....it's free marketing for the club but if it fills anyway (which most do) unless the club are getting something really good out of it - why would you want to do all the work then give it away?

I'm pretty sure there would have to be a tickbox on the entry form or make it in the smallprint of the entry requirements.

Thanks for the comments. As we don't usually struggle for entries we probably won't bother.

I am sure there would be.....an event being SFG (that's what they call themselves) would not increase/decrease me wanting to play and as you say, not many struggle for entries these days anyway...
