Simple (foody) pleasures

Grilled cheese sandwich.

1. Make a cheese sandwich
2. Butter the outside of the bread generously
3. Grill the sandwich both sides on a hot, dry, frying pan until it's golden and the cheese is molten

I really want one now. :(

Almost a cheese dream, 2 slices of bread dipped in egg, fried with cheese in between covered with brown sauce around a 1000 calories .

Sausage and chips at the Mad Stad.

Sausage and chips is a great shout - Mad Stad - or anywhere else. The addition of baked beans only enhances the experience elevating it two near Cordon Bleu levels.

Heston Blumenthal and all his molecular codology nonsense is all very well but at the end of the day it's got no soul or honesty.

Buttered roll, add a packet of crisps. Boom.

only cheese and onion crisps need apply for that bread roll.

I was just going to say buttered roll (must be very crusty) filled with Walkers cheese & onion crisps!
One of life's simple pleasures.
Or a nice cheese and pickle sandwich. Fresh crusty bread and decent strong cheddar. With a few silverskins to help it down.
And maybe a few jumbo peanuts as well.

At the moment a mince pie and a dollop of thick cream

Cushty.
Currently on a mince pie testing fortnight.
Asda's own were leading up until last Friday when I sampled the delights of a box of M&S "star" ones.
If you haven't tried them yet, get yerself a box.
A bit dearer than others, but the closest I've eaten to home made for a long, long while.
