Looking at a full set of new Adams XTD forged

3,4 DHY hybrid and 5-pw forged iron

Stiff C Taper Shaft and iomic grips

adams-xtd-forged-hybrid-irons-set.jpg

Now

I can get these from an Ebay seller with a huge positive feedback score, so i know i will not receive dodgy goods.

These will be imported from the US though, in conjunction with Ebays International buying program (all import taxes, delivery costs etc), meaning i know the accurate cost in advance.

They tick all my boxes

forgiving long irons, forged, C Taper shafts and very good looking.

Not to mention they RRP in the UK for nearly 800 quid.

These can be had for 350 if import them..... (Including all charges)

I have been hovering over the 'buy it now' button for the last few hours.

Is there anything i need to consider that i might not have done already?

you ever hit any irons with c-taper (s)?

I have yes Coach

Only last week i tried them in a set of RSI forged (after asking for advice on the forum) and really liked them. I Hit a high ball so do not need help getting it airborne.

Edit - should just mention that i hit the 110 version. These come with the 120's which are obviously heavier, thoughI prefer the extra weight and use S300's currently

okay, first off it's your $'s so entirely your call.

maybes something to consider.

these irons have a low cg, so as well as forgiving 'hot' face area with the 'behind the face' slot insert, they are designed to have a higher launch angle, higher flight.

looking at your #'s with the 8i, would say shaft angle at impact not taking a bunch o 'loft' off the static loft. with that SS presenting kinda average less dynamic loft would see the distance some ways further than 155 carry distance.

if you can afford the time from 'hitting' the buy button! could well be a good idea to go & try out the 'heads' in whatever stiff shaft you can find in the demo carts, even if you can't find the c-taper 120's, would give you a better idea what kinda LA you'd be getting.

don't think there would be so many takers capable of using c-taper 120's that would be looking for those shafts in that kinda head, thinking of re-sale if you found they weren't for you ....

but you're the one spending the $'s.

you sure about the 'seller'. they retail over here around $999. so have to wonder about the asking price.

Thanks for the help Coach

The seller is 'hurricane Golf' i have done some research online and they look legit. Plenty of 3rd party review sites giving good feedback.

I also searched some of the big US golf forums and found plenty of good reviews and no sign of any counter fitting etc

I paid Pay pal so should be covered should something go a miss (one would hope...)

I would kill to have a bash with the XTD heads, however i literally cannot find anywhere nearby that has them in stock. In fact i can only find a couple of UK dealers that stock them nationwide.

Ive been slowly trying lots of irons with lots of shafts recently and feel pretty comfortable that i can get on with the C Tapers. Proof will be in the pudding though for sure

Totally get your point regarding SL and DL. Lets just say im working on it with my Pro :)
