Hi all you slicers and I suspect there are a few of you.
In this post I'd like to explain why a slice happens, the cure and a shortcut fix.
All comments refer to a right handed golfer (sorry lefties)

Firstly, the golfer who starts his shot left of the target and ends up right of the target has done the following
The swing is across the target line (right to left) and the clubface is pointing to the right of the target as seen below

The cure is to change the swing path and club face position at impact.

Not as simple as it sounds
There is however a slight cheat.
Now, dont get me wrong, this is not for everyone and is certainly not a cure, but it may work for some. I would advise anyone who wants to try it to do so on a range first.
With the proper cure above, you have to improve your swing path AND clubface.
With this cheat, you only have to improve the clubface.
You start by aiming right....yes right. This is why I said try it at the range first, and be brave. :)
Then let the swing go where it wants to go, i.e. out to in and try and get the clubface pointing in the same direction as the swing

I'm sure that although your normal shot is left to right, occasionally, you hit a straight pull. This is caused by the swing still being out to in but with the clubface pointing straight left. Try and imagine hitting that pull shot on purpose, but aiming right, so instead of the ball vanishing into the left hand trees, it now sails down the middle.
Those of you who want to try this, and I stress its not for everyone, dont be scared to aim quite a long way right. This will vary depending on how far out your swing is, but can be as much as 30 yards right.
The beauty about this is your swing goes where it wants to go and frees your mind up to focus on the clubface being square at impact. Check your grip to make sure its not too weak.
I would like to reiterate, this is not for everyone and is no cure, but give it a go on the range and it may be a shot that you can call on if the wind is hard off the left and there is OOB right. :(
If youre not sure about any of the above, feel free to ask.
Have fun :D

And you :D

What do you play off then Jan, I would hope single figures seeing as you're with Boberto ;)

Keefth, she would have been off single figures by now, but she wanted to learn how to swing perfectly.
I finally got her to try the above method to cure her slice and is now hitting it the best I have seen her hit it.
Currently off a respectable 17, but will soon be off low teens.........if she continues to listen :D :D
who knows lol
