played my first round today off the back tees as i have joined a new club. Im yet to get a handicap so today was my first card to enter..

Well what a shocker.. Shot 104!!!

I know i can do so much better. At my old course where i always played i was regularly shooting mid 80`s yet at my new club im struggling!!

There's a world of difference between playing casual/social golf and golf with a scorecard that's going in for handicap or competition. I take you didn't play competitions or have a handicap at your previous club and this is you first handicap.

If your club's on Howdidido, join up and look at the competition results. You'll see on there that several people will have very high scores every competition. Less than 20% of the field at my club (usually around 8%) actually shoot their handicap or lower in medal comps.

The bad rounds will happen, it's golf.

yeah that's right.. i have never played in a competition and never had an official handicap!

Maybe i will just have to come to terms that i will be starting on a high handicap and work hard at getting it down
