If anyone misses a week - no probs - will assume next weight loss equally divided among missing weeks.
If I've gone OTT let me know!!

Whilst a spreadsheet may well suit some folks it could be a negative effect for others. Each person will lose weight at different rates. It's not a race it's an ongoing event.

The main thing is to alter your eating habits so that you maintian either a gradual weight loss or maintain a target weight once you reach that point. That's the hard part. It's not easy as it is often undoing years of bad habits and re-learning from a totally different perspective.

I'm using this as an extra incentive to help me kick start the year. I'll stick to a better diet and increase my exercise in the gym at a time of year where normal outdoor activity is often less than in the spring and summer months.

Having had to understand this after a health scare just over a year ago I can comment on this with a fair amount of personal experience ;) If I hadn't understood and taken this on board, there was a good chance I wouldn't have been here and able to write this post ;)

Who's adding some exercise to their dieting plans ? Anyone had any thoughts about that.

PS

I take it that this will be in the "Out of Bounds" Section when it's up and running ?

I have read the posts of the people that want to lose weight for whatever reason.some peoples BMI is high unless they are 8ft tall, however its not all about losing weight.I am 14st 4lbs i am also 6ft 1.I am a little tubby around the middle however i want to tone up,that doesnt mean losing weight as muscle is heavier than fat.so all the people that say they want to lose a stone or two do they really want to lose weight or tone up

Either?! as one of them is never going to happen, I'll take loosing some weight. :)

ALthough I didn't get involved in last years weight loss I thoroughly enjoyed the related threads and the sometimes unintentional humour. I don't think a spreadsheet is necessary as it makes it all a bit clinical and regimented. Far better to let everyone post each week and be honest in their progress. Far less pressure then if you miss a week as well.

Only my opinion and I just hope the battle is as entertaining this year. Good luck to everyone taking the challenge

Yes I think I agree with Homer and others - too formal with a spreadsheet. Let's stick to the time-honoured format of no format!
