Shared birthday

C'mon guys, do you really need to be giving out your birth dates on an open forum?

It doesn't take much for a random thread/comment some weeks back that contains your age, a reference to your real name or what football team you support, what dates you're off on hols/where too, your job, club you play at etc etc... Don't make it too easy for them

I'm viewing on a mobile so can't see but this forum used to have a 'today's birthdays' on the front page so not exactly earth shattering news.

I’ve yet to have a job where I don’t share my birthday with at least one colleague.

The maths on it is really interesting!

When it comes to IT security my biggest tip is to never answer truthfully unless it’s a legal requirement or not visible.

So when it asks for your mother’s maiden name always give it as something random you have chosen. It could be a word you associate with that person to make it easier. Your favourite sports team could be your rival team for example and your first pet can be your favourite music star.

IT security is best done creatively as computers are rubbish at that and it’s hard work for the criminals.
