My dad turns 55 next week and he plays off 8 handicap.

Does anyone know of any good Senior events he can enter this year.

I'm in this boat and I'm filling my boots this coming season 😊.

As above, Golf Empire is your friend. It really is a very good site. Just double check that the line is 55. Most are, some go to 60 though.

I tend to use the region first of all, then club I like the look of. No point finding a great open if it's 250 miles away. Have a play around, it's fun.

There are absolutely loads on golfempire. Unfortunately handicap wise he is probably in no-mans land. He'll get balloted out of all the decent scratch stuff but may not be interested in playing with the really high handicap guys that enter a lot of handicap senior opens.

Thanks for this , much appreciated.

Really nice when this forum is helpful..
It depends on where he is based but there are still opportunities to get in some of these EngGolf Senior Series Events https://www.englandgolf.org/senior-series-tournaments that are well run (by ex forum stalwart Glynn, @Lincolnquaker) & this year are in divisions so he may have a chance of qualifying for the National Finals at Woodhall Spa with all stay-over costs paid. It's where I play most of my 'Open' golf these days & have managed to qualify for the last few years. Folk travel the length of the country to play as the Captains events are the day after. Good luck to him as there is good golf out there on some pretty good courses especially if you can make the Finals at Woodhall Spa.
I might add that it's well worth joining the Waiting-list on some as they regularly have lots of drop-outs.
