There used to be a bar in Whitley Bay, Newcastle as well, where the bar staff wore bikinis, some of the bikini bottoms were practically thongs. Me and a few friends went one night, early 20's, all single, seemed a good idea. The reality was we felt dirty, a bit creepy and we left after one drink. I wanted to put a jacket on the woman serving me, cover up I was thinking. I never went back.

Noticeable that it's stated as being at a 'secret course in Essex'. Obviously no one has agreed to host it. But they figured Essex was their best place to start looking.

Idols? You should have hung around - at the end of the night, the girls would get up and dance on the bar.

Whitley Bay was pretty seedy when I moved up here in the mid-90s. Idols was tame compared to some of the other bars.

Yes, massive change in WB these days, it's all tapas and micro breweries. The seediest place is now Wetherspoons!
