Season so far?

Started the year off slow with a fair few 0.1's then had a good May. Two divisional wins gave me a 0.9 and a 1.2 cut plus a bit of prise money and also won a Foursomes comp. Lets hope June follows suit... mind you, I've already had 0.1 back in the monthly Medal.

Good season so far after discovering the secret to great iron striking but have since lost it. Promising display at the range today.

Good handicap cuts but seem to be struggling to play at new courses- absolutely fine round my home and various mates' courses.

Short game still a complete disgrace, but it should be given how little time I spend on it.

season as usual for me, up and down and hcp slowly increase and suddenly a good round and hcp decrease,,and the muscles is overstrength by to much play..my biggest problem is to fast in swing and use arms to much instead of bodyrotation,,,,probably because of age issues and stiffness due to age,,,,,but who cares, the important is to feel satisfied with life in general

1 comp scoring 37 points and 1 doubles matchplay against staff of The Belfry which ended all square in both our individual match and the comp as a whole.

Really need to enter a lot more comps before winters back though.

Except for winning against our Captain & Pro it's been dire. A lesson today and a practice afterwards at the range and I was nutting the irons. Playing tomorrow so keeping everything crossed that the lost swing has been found

not even up and down, more middle and down...

3 comps - 3 x 0.1's but only just missed buffer each time.
Some horrendous bounce games and some decent - a couple of 74's including last week which was pretty solid.
Hoping to carry that form into the comp tomorrow.....
Just a few silly shots away from going low....

Was going great until I did my elbow a fortnight back.

Had four 0.1's since then but only missed the buffer by one shot last week so maybe things are looking up a bit.

I'm playing like a man with no arms and swinging it like an octopus in a hurricane.
I could peg it up and kick it round in less! The handicap has gone up from 6.1 to 6.9 and shows no sign of slowing down.

However - I have just ditched the 'players' style clubs, gone for GI 'easier-to-hit' clubs, bought a Swing Guide and some alignment sticks and have access to some Pro advice at the course I work at.

Let's see what happens.................

Very enjoyable so far. Handicap's come down 6 strokes and I'm beginning to believe that I've earned it. I'm actually enjoying the short game practice more than the actual golf right now, something I'd have found unbelievable a year ago.

pleased with the season so far, started 12.8 now 10.6 last weeks midweek comp, saw me record best ever gross of 73, including a hole in 1 and 5 birdies, and a cut of 1.6

Results wise very poor I've had 3 x 0.1's and 2 buffers. In pairs I've had a third and a fourth place. Game wise it's just about coming together though, irons have just clicked recently and my short game especially close around the green are on fire! Can feel a lie one coming.

Two seconds, some poor rounds, broke 80 for the first time (round The Old Course!) and 0.9 off my starting handicap - would say B+ at the moment. Hopefully getting some momentum just now though.

I've been dogged with back problems and my golf has suffered as a result. I had a lesson last week and the pro has advised that my swing has gone flat and I need to rebuild my swing. The lesson has put me back on the back track but I've lost at least a club length. My game has been up and down and lacking usual consistency so lots of work to do.

I've bought a lighter shafted driver after seeing the Cleaveland Classic 285 XL's for £59.99 at Snainton Golf and first outing tonight was showing signs of promise with more distance on a more controlled swing.

Got 4 comps this week so hopefully things will get back on track

Started the season in a horrible place with the Sherman as my stock iron shot, gradually affected most areas of my game as I tried desparately to find a cure.

I know I shouldn't say it but I think I'm coming out the other side now and even had a cut in the last medal to my lowest ever handicap of 8.

Into thrid round of mixed KO and won two out of two B Team matches so things looking much better now.

4 comps, 3 point1 and 1 buffer (or 2 if you count Saturday's 36 holer as two separates). First round defeats in the singles and the foursomes knockouts.

Things can only get better. (But unfortunately one knows that's not necessarily true)
