SCUM, THEIVING SCUM!!!!!!!

Thanks for all of your support messages guys. Believe me Bob if I had have seen these bar stewards then I would have put them into next week.......and be put up on a GBH charge. My mates and I are all convinced that they were watching me as I put my clubs away. The forensic police dept are coming out tomorrow which should be intersting, they have asked me to keep some of the glass, to see if they can get hair or blood samples from it.

Funny thing is that i was just starting to get used to my new clubs (after being custom fitted by Ping & Mizuno) and was putting in some good cards.

As far as the insurance goes I hope to God that there isnt a problem as I have just totalled everything up to £1995! I had contacted them in october though and they had sent me a confirmation letter stating that my clubs were insured for £1600 + £485 for the Powakaddy.

I will only claim for what I have lost though, no more, no less. I am an honest guy (apart from telling you all that i had a 77 ) and would feel very guilty if I commited insurance fraud, even if it was a box of balls too many. My mates were all saying claim for this and that, but that's just not me i'm afraid.

I think I'm pretty lucky in that 90% of the time the only people able to get in and out of the locker room are members as it works on a swipe card system but when we get socieities they get a couple of cards handed out to let everyone in and out and thats when everythin HAS to be stuck in lockers.

To be honest because we are fairly tucked away and have automatic gates that need a password on the keypad or a token its pretty hard to just get in and out.

Fort Knox Golf and Country Club? :D

When I go out and play or teach, I dont even lock my car. Oops, shouldn't advertise that lol

There's an old saying "Who knows what's good and what's bad". So you get yourself a new set of custom fitted clubs and in a few months you'll only shoot 77 on bad days.

Peter, i had all my mizuno gear stolen from the car around 4 months ago, all the insurance company wanted was proof of ownership. I supplied pictures from trips, and got my local pro to provide other receipts for the older stuff. In return he put forward a replacement invoice and they ok'd it within days......biggest wait was for the new kit to arrive. The insurance company were absolutely first class. the total loss came to around £2.5k....well worth the £4 golf insurance premium.

Thanks Largs, this is exactly what I wanted to hear, because you hear of so many insurance companies who get out of anything they can.

Funny, HID has said tonight that "within the last 4mths you've had your teeth knocked out with a golf ball and all of your golf equipment stolen, don't you think that someone is telling you to give up?". My reply was "There's only one person that should give up in this conversation".

Sorry to hear about the incident, I doubt the Police will be able to trace the wastes of oxygen that did this. Who know's, maybe one day they'll try again at your club, get caught and then you and your fellow club members can go to work on them with your long irons !!! Not that I'm an aggressive person.

I've been considering joining golfcare for the last month or so, now that this has happened I'm going to contact them this weekend.

I hope your insurance claim moves smoothly and swiftly mate.

Peter sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Word of advise from an Insurance Claims handler, ensure the claim form is signed by the Police, dont over egg the claim, theres nothing worse than reading a claim form and knowing the claim is exaggerated. That could lead to the claim being declined or you receiving less compo than you deserve.
Plus an exaggerated claim could result in any future claims made being investigated moe throughly.

Played my best round last night and shot a 77, 37 on the front and 40 on the back including 4 birdies with a pitch in from 75yrds.

Ecstatic, I walked off the course and put my clubs away. Sitting in th bar having a cold one and the barmaid shouts, who owns a grey Golf? I put my hand up, she walks over and says your side window has been smashed. Yes, you guessed it, my shiny new sticks + sky caddie including a MX-700 5 wood and Mizuno Bettinardi that I was using for the first time were gone.

It was 8:10pm (still daylight), there is no CCTV and there were around 20cars in the car park.

2/3weeks now without any clubs. I just hope that my home contents insurance coughs up. Although they have said that I am covered.

P'd off......YOU BET!

I don't understand. You had your clubs stolen last night, but you say "2/3 weeks now without any clubs" :D

I do have everthing else spare 11.5 deg driver, Ram 3&5 Woods, 3iron Utility, 56 & 60deg wedges and a putter. The only thing that I'm missing is 4-PW irons. I also have a cheap carry bag.

I had a word with our pro yesterday to see if I could borrow a demo set of Ping's as I was interested in buying these before getting my MX200's, he said that they have plenty of 6irons but they wont do a demo set. But, he said that I could borrow his Titliest blades (what a nice guy).

So at least I will still be able to get out there. ;)

Like I've said before mate, i just want replacing what was in the bag + the bag itself, nothing more, nothing less. For example the trolley, battery and shoes were not taken, and many people have said claim for them, sorry but that's just not me.

I can provide receipts for more or less everything so will give them as much as I can.

Just surfing online and come across this for future ref:

TAG-IT

Seems pretty decent to me.

Now that is a good spot.

Think i will be getting these me thinks. But am I right in saying that there is only 4 transponders that they can trace? and 16 labels? Surely there should be 16 transponders?

Doesnt look like it. Seems its only a prevention rather than a tracking system.
